Each Saturday our Ground Manager and team arrive at dawn to deliver the equipment across all corners of Harrison Fields in readiness for field set-up for each age group. They set up the cones for our Mini Roos 5s-7s age groups.
As a community sporting club we rely heavily on our members to assist with getting the grounds reconfigured as we move through the age groups.
Our Mini Roos have tiny fields, with our 8s-9s and then our 10s-11s moving into larger fields, finishing with our 12-18s who move to the full sized soccer pitch.
The GUFC Clubhouse serves as a central hub for players, families, and the community.
Fields are marked out with cones on arrival. The final GUFC 5s-7s game on each field prior to 8s and 9s commencing are to pack up their field and put the cones and flags to the edge of the field for use by our 8s and 9s in their field set up. See your draw to determine when it’s your team’s turn for field pack up.

Ground allocation information for training is shared with coaches to help them organise their team training sessions.
A lot of work goes into ground allocations as you can imagine. With over 2,000 players that’s a lot of players/teams to find training spaces for. A system has been in place for the past couple of years which has worked well from both a budget point of view, as well as to better project manage/streamline standard training time slots from younger to older players.
We share this here for you to view, but it’s important to note that it is your coach and the coach coordinators who ultimately make the decision on when your team trains.
For now please see the following:
There are many Sports Session Planner samples that you can use in your training session. As seen in Gungahlin United Football Magazine, this one is for a team at the Under 12 skill level.
This session focusses on 1v1 and striking and includes ball mastery, move un-oppose, dribbling & finishing, and the shooting station.
We’re pleased to be able to partner with a number of experts in the sports health industry who conduct seminars for our performance streams. Part of their commitment is to provide resources for our Community Coaches, which includes copies of their presentations.
The following presentations are copyrighted to their authors, and are to be used to help you give direction to your teams on where to go if they need additional advice or assistance in their physical wellbeing. Reach out to contact@gufc.org.au if you have any questions about these resources.
